We collected data from Detroit liquor store inventories and found trends amongst the alcohol that was being bought. After visiting stores and going through the lists, we realized a few things. 

          1. There were five different types of alcohol that were sold more commonly than others. 

          2. The cost and quality of the liquor were low. 

          3. Liquor stores in Detroit are covered in bullet proof glass and the cashier is shielded from the outside world. 

          4. Alcoholism in Detroit is a major problem - second to heroin addiction. 

          5. There is a lot of vernacular surrounding Detroit liquor stores.

PROTOTYPES

We made a handful of prototypes to flush out our ideas. 


PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

We collected multiple videos of a liquor store cashier and bought bottles of the liquor we wanted to display. We poured out the liquor and used food coloring and soap to duplicate the liquor in the bottles.  We then clipped and measured out our video and responses to fit into our space. Finally, we used processing to code our project to use voice recognition via Java.
